The small files behind the site
Cookies are tiny text files that help joysola.com remember things — like that you already saw the banner, or which poker schedule you last looked at. This page lists what we use and how to turn them off.
01 What cookies actually are
A cookie is a small file your browser saves when you visit a site. It's how the web remembers things — items in a cart, whether you're logged in, or in our case whether you've already dismissed a banner.
- Cookies can't read your files or install anything.
- They expire on their own — most of ours last under a year.
- You can delete or block them anytime in your browser settings.
Fun fact: our actual cookies — the edible kind — are in the dessert case, not on the website. These ones are far less interesting.
02 The three types we use
Essential
Keep the site working — the contact form, the poker seat requests, remembering you clicked "sounds good" on the banner so it doesn't haunt every visit.
Preferences
Remember small choices like your last selected menu tab or which poker night filter you viewed — pure convenience.
Analytics
Anonymous counts of page visits — helps us see if people actually read the poker schedule or just ring up and ask.

That's genuinely the whole list. No advertising cookies, no cross-site trackers, nothing following you around the internet.
04 Managing your cookies
Every modern browser lets you see, delete and block cookies — usually under Settings → Privacy. Blocking essential cookies may break the booking forms, which would be a shame if you're trying to grab a poker seat.
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies.
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security.
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy.
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions.
Heads up
Deleting cookies resets the banner — it'll say hello once more, then leave you alone for another year.
05 Third-party bits
A couple of external services touch the site, and they may set their own cookies under their own policies:
- Google Maps — the embedded map on the contacts page is served by Google.
- CDN libraries — Bootstrap, FontAwesome and AOS are loaded from public CDNs.
- Google Fonts — the typefaces come from Google's font servers.
None of these are advertising partners, and none relate to your poker bookings — those stay in our own booking system.
06 Changes to this policy
If we add or drop a cookie — say, a new feature for checking the poker leaderboard — this page gets updated and the date at the top moves. Anything significant gets flagged on the homepage banner too.
Continuing to use the site after an update means you're fine with the new list — and you can always change your mind via browser settings.
Version history is simple: this page is the current version. Older copies are available on request.
